When we hear the term “log rolling,” our minds typically turn to politics. (You know, that whole “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” type of thing.) But some folks at the U of M are considering a new recreation program that’ll remind us of the literal meaning of the phrase—that is, the actual act of balancing on logs. The Minnesota Daily reports that the university has already begun taking steps to include a log rolling program for kids this summer.
In addition to being a popular leisure time activity for lumberjacks, it’s also, apparently, a killer cardio workout. At the moment it’s only being offered through the Summer Youth Programs, though it may extend beyond that in the future. (Fingers crossed.)
