Remember the old days of dreading airport food? Coffee and a cold ham and cheese sandwich? No, thank you. Well, you can kiss that bad grub goodbye and say hello to one of Minneapolis’s best new restaurant hubs: the Hubert Humphrey Terminal.

We’re not joking.

OTG Management set out to completely revamp the dining options at the Delta Air Lines G Concourse in the Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport, and boy have they made us hungry. In an effort to embrace the ever-growing TC foodie culture, OTG Management paired with some of the best chefs in town to produce six new restaurants.

Taste of Mill City Tavern stemmed from the brilliance of Lenny Russo of Heartland Restaurant in St. Paul. The restaurant focuses on serving local dishes made from local ingredients. Can you say walleye sandwich?

Those looking for pizza should glide right on past Pizza Hut and into Vero, an Italian eatery that consulted Pizzeria Lola’s Ann Kim for some not-so cheesy advice on how to craft the perfect pie.

Other dining options include the house-made Asian noodles at Shoyu and pulled-pork sandwiches inspired by our very own Andrew Zimmern at Minnibar.

At each restaurant, customers can order and pay with an iPad, a system that allows hurried travelers to eat on their own schedule. We’d consider this new foodie hot spot the perfect excuse for a summer vacation.
