A St. Paul car thief got more than he bargained for last Tuesday night after discovering that the leather bag he stole contained nothing more than Bibles and religious booklets.

The car belonged to John Yang and was ransacked outside his mother-in-law’s house on the East Side of St. Paul. The unidentified thief broke the passenger-side window and likely grabbed the closest object to him. Yang’s mother-in-law is a devout Jehovah’s Witness, and always carries the religious materials with her, Yang told the STrib.

Hopefully the thief will see the irony in stealing a bag of Bibles and read up on the Ten Commandments.
