Local food-giant General Mills’ Cheerios brand was part of an ugly discussion of race on the internet. A recent ad features a mixed race couple, and with race relations already a hot topic, it brought out some of the worst in people. Like, turn-comments-on-Youtube-off bad. It’s enough to make you wonder how far the nation really has come on race.

But take heart, because kids aren’t buying any of that. Popular Youtube channel TheFineBros, creators of “Kids React,” had children react to the commercial and the controversy. The older kids have some pretty eloquent arguments against racism and bias, but the real gems are the younger ones. The fact they cannot comprehend why this commercial is anything but silly is a pretty good reason to hold out hope for the future.
