Doesn’t the normal protocol for giving away free stuff curbside include affixing a sheet of paper to the stuff with the word “FREE”?

Bogus ad dupes someone into taking snowblower from St. Cloud driveway [Strib]

“The online ad went up shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday and said that anyone who wanted the snowblower left at the end of a St. Cloud driveway, it was free for the taking … The only problem is that the snowblower’s owner didn’t place the ad on Craigslist and never intended to give it away. The owners left the Toro 825 8-horsepower machine there to be taken to a shop for repairs.”
