An Amish couple and their 3-month-old were hurt when their horse-drawn buggy was hit by an SUV near Bertha. What I can’t understand is this: “The Todd County sheriff’s office says the family’s buggy was rear-ended by a Jeep Grand Cherokee on a county road shortly after 9 p.m. Monday.” Rear-ended? What? They just didn’t see them? Were they drunk? Were they texting? Did the buggy not have reflectors?

And what of the poor, injured horse? Does he go back to work on Monday?
