That annual rite has arrived. The night Jewish families order takeout, with nowhere to go, no presents to open: Christmas Eve. With Hanukkah long passsed this year thanks to a strange coincidence overlapping with Thanksgiving, Christmas is especially disconnected to the Jewish calendar of holidays. No sweat—Jewbilee is here. Half variety show, half city-wide religious rendez-vous, the tradition of entertainers who happen to be Jews gathering on this night is longstanding and comforting. Per usual, it’s a mix of comics and bands having fun and letting loose, with the Current’s own Danny Sigelman leading the charge. Look for Gus Lynch and Laura Thorne, who aren’t afraid to toe the line of decency for a good punch line, and yearly attendees the Rivkinz for covers to get inappropriately loud while everyone else is waiting for Santa to shimmy down the chimney. 8 p.m. $3. —EK
