You hear the music. Your foot begins to tap. All of a sudden—wow!—your neck’s bobbing uncontrollably? Just before you leap up to bust a move, you remember: when it comes to dancing, you’re much more Fred Flintstone than Fred Astaire.

For all the Flintstones out there, it’s time to leave dancing to one of the Twin Cities’ only jazz dance companies: the Eclectic Edge Ensemble. From its humble beginnings at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, the troupe has served as choreography workshop and flourishing dance community for 10 years now. Tonight marks the dance troupe’s first of five anniversary concerts at the Ritz Theater in Northeast. Attendees can look forward to hearing music by Richard Sloss, Michael Rossetto, Warren Park and Brian Erickson, while watching EEE classics from its extensive repertoire as well as new choreography by Artistic Director, Karis Sloss. Slight neck bobbing and foot tapping is allowed. 8 pm. $17 in advance, $20 at the door. —SH
