The Minnesota Museum of American Art proves their nation-wide focus in their latest exhibit, Repetition & Ritual, a show culling work from artists in New York, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania in addition to Minnesota. As you walk around the Project Space, the sheer time commitment of knitting and tatting and crocheting to make every piece is dumbfounding; the sculptural forms that emerge from once limp fibers, inspiring. Tonight one artist speaks to the role of repetitive actions to make her wearable pieces. Erica Spitzer Rasmussen takes the once-necessary crafting of clothing and elevates it into sculpture, imbuing the textiles with meaning as they interact with body, much like an avant garde fashion designer. Doors at 6 p.m. Free. —EK
