Anne Labovtiz’s art will drive deep into the artistic parts of your brain you probably didn’t even know exist. With her complex portraits and landscape paintings, the Minnesota-native has been featured in galleries around the world. Tonight, her new exhibit opens at the Burnet Art Gallery at Chambers. Aptly titled Layers, her newest works are “fascinating studies of the human psyche.” The trippiness of it sounds pretty great, no? The opening features a reception where you can mingle with art aficionados and the artist herself to try and get to the bottom of how she makes things on a wall look so damn good. If you can’t make it tonight, fear not, the exhibit runs until March 2. 6 p.m. Free. — EJ
