Since many of our readers don’t read anything else besides Amelia Santinello’s Instagram, we feel we should share some of the important-to-you stories being shared around the SotC virtual water cooler so that you’re properly briefed before your happy hour.

News: A St. Easy police office is on leave after suggesting on Facebook that cars run over protesters—and then suggesting how to get out of any legal trouble.

Notes: We’re as not surprised as you, and the officer is “on leave” while the media hype cools down and he’s eventually let back to work. And such is the current problem with our police departments.

News: Art Pope Andy Sturdevant recounts the little known history of our former street names like Grape, Elk, Cataract, and others.

Notes: Super fascinating read on the merger of MPLS and St. Anthony, and the resulting renaming of streets to get rid of duplicate (and frankly more fun) street names for street numbers.

News: WCCO did a report on local Cuddle Club Parties, a place that “provides spaces for nurturing touch”, where people get together and cuddle.

Notes: As you can imagine, a lot of talk about the cuddle parties, lot of super lame “first rule of cuddle club” jokes. But some of you might want to go and get rid of some of your winter blues!

News: Heavy Table tried some of the meatless meats at the Herbivorous Butcher, the vegan butcher shop.

Notes: We haven’t tried them ourselves yet, but we’ve been fascinated by the concept and fact that the Twincy Hyper Train™ stopped in front of the place. We were also actually surprised that HT pretty much loved what they got at HB. So make plans to stop in.
