Have Baby, Get Vicodin

My wife got surgery today over at North Mermorial. With her purse, her prescription, and baby in hand, I was able to get her Vicodin. No one ever checked my ID, and it could have been that I was some crazy guy with a child who had swiped a purse.
Perhaps there should be a little more concern when it comes these drugs?

Wow, this MN Speaks made even me appear stilted and retarded. Here is the full text (original reply) as it was meant to be read. Substitute a for * - that is where it was being filtered.

Perhaps if Vicodin was a Schedule II drug (hard copy prescription needs to be presented for fulfillment), vs. Schedule III (which is what Vicodin falls under, and this type of prescription can be phoned in), more verification would be required. But since Vicodin is Scheduled III only, I believe what happened it technically appropriate. Going around and arbitrarily saying, "I think things should be that way" or "I think this should be this way" is cheap talk without objective basis. Just because Vicodin has a certain notoriety, doesn't mean controls on it change. Viagr* is also notorious, but it remains unscheduled.

Also, COMMON SENSE would tell you that perhaps your pharmacist knew it was for your otherwise bed ridden wife. Think. Someone else had to pick it up.

First of all, what did that 'quote' about Minnesota/Nice Guys even have to do with the subject? And I'm glad that you feel superior to "low functioning tards" and use that as a term to mock and ridicule someone, staschua. It makes it that much easier for me to dislike you.

Vicodin sucks. Get your wife on darvocet.

Intersting information from sgaschua... but it still seems a little odd. The pharmacists at Target let me pick up my wife's birth control pills. No ID needed. Of course, I don't sell those on the black market. However, I do take them to incite a sense of euphoria.

spend a day in your local ER. you would be amazed at the number of people who (left/forgot/was stolen) their (percocet/oxycontin/darcvocet) prescription (at home/up north/i'm on vacation) and "can i get it refilled please?" and they do.

Why are people freaking out about how easy it is to get vicodin? Vicodin is the worst. It's like strong tylenol.

Man you guys crack me up. Apparently some MN'sotans are not total tards. You must have a good brain to have a nice sense of humor like this. Sorry about my earlier post, but I literally believe half the population is close to being retarded.

People may make fun of us but why do people continue to move here? In general people only run other people down to make up for their own short comings.

Wow clever one, seems like it is a word you like to use yourself! Nah, I think I will stay & drive out all the local tards. It will get better once the influx dilutes the local, ugly, stupid, anti-social and inconsiderate-indigenous population.

Some people "run others down" because they do not accept backstabbing, wussie anti-social, passive aggressive behavior these "others" exhibit. In other words, if you don't like me, have the guys to tell me to my face. This childish, cowardly backstabbing is womanly (sorry ladies).

So many people who move to Minnesota notice the anti-social & inconsiderate behavior I allude to. Many move back because they cant take it. Its not one big thing, its all the little childish things that add up to drive a normal, well adjusted person mad. If there are so many people who feel this way, I believe there must be truth in their complaints.

How can I not like you, I don't know you.

I can guess you are from the NE portion of the USA because politeness eludes a large section of that poplation.

staschua02:50pm

People from ANYWHERE else in the USA don't purposely let the door shut behind them when someone is right behind them. People from ANYWHERE else in the USA usually smile back when given a friendly smile or polite "hello". People from ANYWHERE else in the USA usually say something like "bless you", when someone else sneezes. People from ANYWHERE else in the USA are not such timid drivers that they barely function on the road. People from ANYWHERE else in the USA don't slam change down on the counter for the cashier to pick up - they normally politely hand it to the cashier. People from ANYWHERE else in the USA are often good looking or interesting looking, and don't wear a constant frown of doom and gloom on their faces. People from ANYWHERE else in the USA don't always pretend like they didn't hear what you said if they hear something only slightly direct and to the point.

The list goes on and on and on...

Minneapolis is a hard place for new comers, I won't deny that.
Minnesotan's are predominately of German Heritage and are slow to welcome outsiders and are not the most outwardly effusive people.

Give people a break and don't be aggressive. That really turns people off here in fly over country. You will eventually see goodness in us.

*Acting persumptiously to talk for all Minnesotans*

Oh and we're ugly? I guess if you don't like fair skinned and haired people you are out of luck.

Nope, Kitty Hawk, Carolina. Super nice people there. And don't defend your peeps from being ugli - there are far too many female Bruce Jenner look a likes, who, even if they're not dikes, sure look like they're lez. It is rare and far in between you find a good looking Minnesota woman here. Around some universities (where you have out of state blood), you can see some nicer looking ones. But many have that "criminal" hook nose that even the otherwise good looking Minnesotans seem to have. C'mon, you got to admit, there are quite a number of blase, uninteresting looking people in Twin Cities, c'mon. So many ugly people here. Havent you been out to other states?

oh, and why do all you bikers wear expensive racing garb? It looks oh so silly - trust me. If you can't find a way to waste your money properly, you could always lose it at the casion (another retarded MN pastime).

AS for you assertavi bikers who insist on sharing the road more evenly because "I have the right to get hit", well, I am all for you - getting hit. I hope you die off because of your stupidity.

Hey, uh, this is about the fact that I could get my wife's drugs without having to show MY ID, not a whole bash Minnesota or other places post. There's already too many of those. I can add to this now.
My neighbor and I were talking about this and his sister (who lives in Uptown) was mugged. In her purse was a prescription for some drug that acts like Vicodin.
When he went to get the prescription, he found it had been picked up and someone had scrawled his name (poorly) on the sheet. When he asked the clerk what the deal was, he was told that someone had all of her info.
Shouldn't the clerks at least LOOK and make sure the person picking up the drugs is somehow related?

Maybe staschua was bitterly rejected by some Scandahoofian college lass and that's why he hates Minnesota so much.

I've lived in Boston, LA, Europe, and people are nicer here then they are anywhere. When I lived in Boston, a blind man wandered around my neighborhood, and he'd stand stranded at the corner through three, four, five light changes because he knew that there was lots of traffic and he couldn't cross the street. I never saw anyone help him get across (except for my Minnesota self).

I get into more random-but-nice conversations with strangers here, people actually say "excuse me" when they bump into you, and I find myself being more polite too. I don't know where this Minnesota is that the angry guy is living in, but he should give mine a try.

Its true, I do not have a high paying job - other than my investments, but that usually takes <1 hour a day. Why pick on my when you don't even know me. The stuff I say about the shit I see many Minnesotans exhibit is true! I don't just make that stuff up. C'mon guys, the fact that "MN Nice" is a big myth is widely known know, and has even been reported on in City Pages. There are so many miserable, mean people here in TwinCities. Its just simply the way it is. And these people want to bring you down. But once the influx dilutes this local, disenfranchised population, they will all fade into the woodwork. Must be tough for some local have nothing Norwegian Lutheran to see these loud sexy flashy peeps from SoCal showing off their stuff. It must hurt.

My father is able to pick up prescriptions for everyone in the family, as well as cash checks for us without needing ID.

I got lectured by a clerk at the credit union once for not having a valid state ID when cashing my own check when I was 16 and didn't need an ID for anything but checking out books in the school library-- I didn't drive, etc. As an adult, hardly anyone asks to see ID when I present a credit card, which I find surprising.

I guess the only time anyone wants to see ID is when you go into Sex World.

This obviously happened a long time ago, but I wish I was a part of this conversation. You people are argueing, I'm assuming that you are grown adults, so you grown adults are argueing about whose state is better, basically. I hope I got that right. People are scared that our generation is going to ruin the country? Nice try, guys.
