Fright Night
After all, St. Anthony Main has been screening Times Square exploitation classics like Dolemite and Fight for Your Life. These are trashy, grisly works of alarming notoriety, and watching them at midnight lends the whole experience a certain dreamlike perversity. It helps that what few audience members shows up are generally pretty high-spirited, tending to shout and sometimes throw things at the screen; their wisecracks might not always be funny, but their participatory spirit is great fun, and true to the grindhouse roots of these films.
This Saturday's show is 1983's Frightmare, in which a group of punk kids steal the recently deceasedbody of an aging horror actor, who prompty returns from the dead to have his gore-splashed revenge. Look for me to be there-- I'll be the one flinging milk duds at the screen.

I wish I had known that it had been going on. Iused to watch horrow incorporated every saturday night, and the butler was hot. Like all god things, I always find out too late.

I think the Rocky Horror Picture Show crowd encompasses the cities' whole repertory midnight movie audience. And speaking as a former regular, that ain't a huge audience in the first place.
If nobody showed up, a lot of it might have to do with the fact that the schedule was a) only available if you signed up for the Atomic Shows' yahoogroup, and b) wasn't actually posted there very regularly anyway. Way to promote yourselves, guys.
Yeah, they have not done a very good job of self-promotion.
