One Fine Calendar
Blowing some time in Borders the other night, I saw the "Minnesota's Finest" calendar on display. It caught my interest, well, because there were boobs, but also because it looked a tad cheesy. My search engine came up with this site first, which links to a couple down in S. Minneapolis, and that made me wonder about it even more. Oh, yeah, and they reference that donations go to the "Van Buren Foundation" which I can't find anything on at all. But, really, the ultimate question here is: are these truely Minnesota's finest?

Did it ever say what they were the finest at? I'm super fine at being snarky about women who have much better figures than I do. Perhaps the VanBuren foundation is connected with one of the models - Lenore VanBuren. Rex, you should have an MN speak calendar and donate the proceeds to PONADM (otherwise known as "Pay Off Nina and Dylan's Mortgage.")
yeah, Simon, it is a bit confusing because the one site says 2006 and the other says 2004 -- but they show some of the same pictures, or at least what looks to be the same women from the same shoot. After very close inspection of the calendar, I noticed they shot in known Minnesota spots, such as the St. Paul Conservatory and Milwaukee Depot ice rink . . .
Does any of them smoke?

I know these people, and they are total scammers! Lanore thinks she is all that, well did you see the interview last night with Channel 5? Robin too they both looked way to nervous to even talk!!! Its funny how things work, they are all getting what they deserved! What a joke that calander and there website is! Like they really think they are the Minnesota's Finest... I mean really, there attitudes there looks everything makes them look like shit and now they are truly getting what the so much deserve!
I am so disappointed in Lanore VanBuren. I knew her personally. The first pageant I ever did- she was the first person I ever talked to...and i knew right then that she would win because she was strikingly beautiful, full of confidence, and as a 16 yr old i was so scared and she calmed me down. And now i find out that everything she stood for is a scam. That is soo sad. Does she even have an autistic nephew or is that a scam too.
Hey come on - I have worked with MNFinest for a couple months now and can tell you, "To" Sad and Nina - these ladies aren't stuck on themselves at all - everyone's surprisingly nice and down to earth....and at least with this year's calendar - it hasn't been promoted as a charity based calendar at all, so there's no scandal there. There's a rebuttal posted on the mnfinest website and since there are obviously two sides to every story, it's worth checking out. :) Thanks.

What you see is NOT what you get with the calendar. The husband and I had to Photoshop the girls because they were fat, had cellulite, bruises, scars, and other issues that they felt made them look less than "Minnesota's Finest." Interesting to find this link. They went out of business for fraud, Lanore VanBuren never donated money to the non-profit she was on Ch. 5 news regarding the scandal, oh about two months ago.

Pretty sure Michele is a lot fatter and uglier than any of us MNF models. Not sure about the 2003 girls but all of us new girls are pretty un - scarred, bruised, fat, etc. Krautgrrl's slander legacy lives on!
Well I can really talk about Lanore from because at one time we were best friends. Since she met her now husband she does not associate with me or any other of her friends. Her now husband had the nerves to call me up at my job and tell me that Lanore is better than me nad that he told her it was basically him or me!! Oh course then she picked him due to him being rich then. One thing I always wanted to tell Lanore is that God does not like ugly and you should never forget who your friends are and where you came from. I will not talk about Lanore but I will say stand on your two feet yourself and dont depend on anyone to hold you up!

My slander legacy? You've got to be kidding me. I have a judgment from Hennepin County for $7000 against Thurlee Belfrey, Lanore's husband. He has a criminal record a mile long, as well as numerous unpaid debts. And as far as being fat, honey, I'm not ugly or fat; all you have to do is look at my website and see for yourself. I'm prettier at 40 than you skanks in the calendar.
The girl with baseball had MANY inches removed from her thighs by my husband. Oh, and a stomach that hung over her bottoms. After he Photoshopped her, she looks darn good. I can send you an original and information about her if you contact me offline.
krautgrrl is dead on. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Thurlee and Lanore. I was truely amazed at how this group could string a pack of lies with such ease. After learning of the long history of scams Thurrle had behind him, I was not suprised at how well he mastered the art of screwing one over. Luckly I got out before I tried to cash too many bad checks or checks from closed accounts. If you're doing business with these guys, get cash up front.
krautgirl...I am a mnfinest model new as of 2006 and I just want to say your comments about girls being fat, bruised etc...you should probably look at yourself. if you can look in a mirror every day and tell me you are flawless and beautiful inside and out then i guess you have a right to say what you do, but your bitterness gives me the sneaking suspicion you dont. its one thing to pick on the nature of the company or criticize the owner from your past experiences, but when you pick apart the girls you just look like a complete hater and it takes any credibility away from what you are saying.
"not your bizz"--if you lost $7000.00 for a month of hard work, you'd be bitter too. This has nothing to do with looks. This has to do with the fact that I was scammed by Thurlee and Lanore. I pay my bills, I don't get sued in Small Claims Court. But to rip on my looks is heinous. I modelled until I was 24. Then I went and got a life, since looks fade, but a PhD never goes out of style. Neither does honesty or faith in God.
Oh, and perhaps "not your bizz" should 1) learn how to spell, it's krautgrrl not krautgirl, 2) sentences end with periods not ellipses and 3) no one EVER is flawless and beautiful and if you think you are then you'll end up on the casting couch banging guys for a job because you're too stuck on yourself as being perfect.
