Music nerds make the best internet nerds. Someone has created Playlist893.com, an unofficial playlist of everything played on The Current. Yes, everything. There are pages for Most Played Songs (the newest singles from Sleater-Kinney and Gorillaz), Top Artists (Aimee Mann), and Most Diverse Artist (Honeydogs).

The Current seems to think that every morning I am driving to my job up in the forest-covered hills, where I will spend the day tapping trees for maple syrup and drinking water from a clear-running mountain stream in a cup I fashioned from a birch leaf. Note to AM Covered Wagon Crew: I have a skyway temp job, please lay off the fiddles.
BTW, I'm told the playlist data doesn't include any CDs, LPs, live audio, or any deviation from the day's playlist.
Did 89.3 kidnap my father's cd collection? I'm not sure but I tell you I hate to admit I enjoy this relic of things 50+ on my way to work in the morning. What, are you all fatherless with no sense of nostalgia? So sad.
Playlist893 doesn't contain everything played on the Current. Far from it. The Morning Show is not included, and that's a pretty big chunk. The Local Show and AMRoutes are also not included. Hopefully soon.
As Rex pointed out, it in no way covers last minutes changes by DJs, either.

At 8:30 AM on a Thursday in early July, I am unable to think of what books were recommended at the last MnRead meeting and in the last MnRead post for future MnRead discussion. So make your recommendations here. Books with local angles (Fitzgerald co…
