Dude Weather Subscribe to Secrets Minneapolis / St. Paul
For those of you tuning in to The OC Thursday night (and you know who you are) you may have heard the name "Chuck Klosterman" referenced by OC-heartthrob Seth (Adam Brody) and asked yourself: why does that name sound so familiar? CK has ties to many folks in the Twin Cities and has frequented the area during his book tours and, ahem, for personal rendezvous as well. That said, Pi Press's Ross Raihala has the scoop on the whole OC mention along with some precious thoughts from Chuck's niece.
Who?
(BTW, he also commented on the Hold Steady thread.)
Will this be a new running gag? When life's problems become so overwhelming that even the best efforts at distraction fail, will we now dryly observe that "not even the wisdom of Chuck Klosterman" can help us?
I have difficulty taking Klosterman seriously because I was a high schooler in Fargo when he was writing his hackneyed column "for the kids" in the Fargo Forum.
Well, Klosterman isn't exactly Mr. Serious- I think that's Mark Mallman, actually.
In case you're wondering, it was a super episode of the show too -- after a sorta lackluster season they really capped it off with a huge bang, especially the stuff about Kirsten and her alcoholism.

The PiPress reports: At least, there's one good thing about a bad economy: Burgers are hot right now. Especially the cheap ones. In the past year in the Twin Cities, a mini burger boom has been under way. What new burger joints have you enjoyed? Wha…
