Dude Weather Subscribe to Secrets Minneapolis / St. Paul
This is governor Pawlenty, who is keeping a brave face after being rejected ... humiliatingly so.
Tangentially related, and locally created, Palin Upskirt.
Speaking of VPILF, I saw Walter Mondale at the Mill City Market.
Also today in Palin news, intrigue continues around whether or not her down syndrome baby is really hers.
I love a good conspiracy, and this one has some legs.
aeklund and I are heading to Alaska to find the TRUTH. We'll twitter.
Somewhat more seriously, two things:
1. Their effort to completely shut down the Troopergate investigation.
2. The fact that Palin WILL NOT be doing any interviews or pressers.
Did you say legs?
The baby's Bristol's. It's only natural to have this election "grease the dolphin" to its utmost threshold.
Oooh, and if you really want to get juicy, Todd Palin's ex-business partner filed to have his divorce proceedings sealed. rumor swirling there is that Sarah is named as an "other woman" in an affair.
Well, look. If you really believe it's relevant that the vp candidate's husband's business partner was accused of flirting with Palin's wife, that's fine I guess. He might have a problem with it though. And the only issue with the trooper is, why wasn't he fired long ago.
But if the lefty media you really want to drag the family of the vice presidential candidate into the mud, then there's this, this, this and this for starters.
HERO vs ZERO
(Soon to be seen on bumpers everywhere.) heh
Oh, I forgot this one.
See, two can play at this game. The only difference is, you have more time on your hands.
The rumor was not that the business partner had flirted with her. It was that she was a participant in an affair with him. So now that's been cleared up. We move on.
And actually, no the trooper issue goes much further than that. There's a serious question about whether she abused the power of her office to settle a personal score.
As for all the other stuff, like the GOP hasn't already been playing that game for years.
That was hilarious. I wonder how Triumph comes off "in person". It's got to be different when you can see the puppeteer. The laying pipe line was pretty funny.
It's sweet how the Libertarian can have so much forgiveness for a would-be book banner.
And here's your proof:
"Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor."
Unfortunately, it's from Time magazine so it only might be true.
Of course I should have remembered how thoroughly you fact check before accusing anyone of anything, Maz. Innocent until proven guilty, right?
Maz is just a Wannabe White Guy. He has White envy.
So sad how some people turn their backs on their own culture and heritage.
Maz is just a Wannabe White Guy. He has White envy.
Not to defend the guy, but I sincerely doubt this is true.
It's true of me, though. I just can't seem to get the golf game down or keep my lawn nice enough to qualify.
I have white guilt. Maybe we can trade.
My golf game is OK but my lawn is shit. Am I half-white?
Robert Smigel is a genius, but I have to admit, this is surprisingly sub-par, maybe because of the situation: He keeps dropping out of accent. Wish I'd known he was in town!
That's sexist!
Seriously, why isn't there a macro for this. I said we needed on months ago and no one believed me.
Because you're all racist!

In other news, instead of investigating whose baby Trig is, I'd like someone to dig up some footage of the kid actually awake during the past week and a half. Good grief, that boy can't be that tired from resting all day. Although, if I was forced to attend OMGWTFGOPBBQ, I'd totally feign being dead too.
Maz-
Maz, dude, I lurk at this site quite a bit. Nobody has -- except, maybe, kurtis (Give it up for my UND homeboy! What was that little 'zine called? Intelligentsia Collage?) -- nobody has more free time than you.
If we're basing that assumption on number of posts on mnspeak, that is.
For the record, I did see the the baby awake at one point during Palin's speech. It was right after a very brief shot of the youngest daughter (who I think is Bristol's too) holding the baby and licking his hair like a mother cat would a kitten. My wife and I had to admit that it topped Obama's daughter going a titch off script for cutest moment of the conventions.
Also cute was T-paw on Kare11 two nights ago, using 90 percent of available brain power to force his face muscles to create a smile while speaking. It was like his synapses were signing for confirmation before actually delivering the message.
Hm. I doubt by post count I'd even be in the top 10 on mnspeak. Except maybe on weekends. You got the name of the zine right, though.
(or comment count, if you will.)
Here is Triumph's second report from the RNC. It even features local Fox news reporters. It's pretty funny.
Ah, good lord, I love Robyn Robinson. So does kc!, so it's cool that I'm writing that under the influence of a couple extra large Aviations...
p.s. 4 parts Plymouth, 1 part Maraschino, 1 part lemon juice. I'd like to get my hands on some Creme de Violette, though I'm fine without it. kc! is out and about getting me a cherry-pitter so I can make my own maraschino cherries.
Robyne robinson is total hottie! I've thought she was since i was twelve and she hasn't shown any signs of aging since then.
Could someone please explain to me why the rest of the country keeps insisting that Minnesota is a presidential battleground state?
Hi-larry-us.
I don't think it's a battleground, either. There's no serious third-party liberal candidate to syphon off the fringe element. I think it's pretty solid for Obama.

Nice. The Aviation is definitely the cocktail of our age. Or at least of this past week. Let us know if you do get the Violette, and what difference it makes. BTW, I ordered some imported Italian marasca cherries from Zingerman's, and they're very good in an Aviation. I also have a recipe for homemade maraschinos that I plan to try someday...
Judging from the campaigns paid advertisements... the candidates don't view Minnesota as a battleground state either. I haven't seen any paid Obama ads on TV or radio. Maybe that will change with some of the new polling out today.
We did make Marachinos last night. Before cjc passed out. I tried to add sugar, but he wouldn't let me.
While these national polls offer an interesting snapshot, it's the state polls that matter. As we have discussed here before, it is the Electoral College, not the popular vote, that elects Presidents. Via Realcleapolitics, these are the numbers you should be watching.
Natinal polls may get the chattering class 'a chattering, but the pros look to the Electoral College scorecard.
Correct-- but I haven't seen a post-convention poll for Minnesota, yet.
Jason has access to newswires and all kind of other fancy news-gathering tools. For those who don't, and want to track the minnesota polls, there is this page (also from realclearpolitics).
My "Drill This" baseball cap has gotten a lot more attention since the GOP convention.
