I past by Izzy's every day as I bike home. Never stop there though. Yeah that's it. Never stop there.
I heart Izzy's. Their soy ice cream is delicious. I was in a fight with them for a minute because they were out of the soy when I went in, but then they had 2 tasty flavors on my next visit, so we made up. Oh, and my dog loves it too!
Now that Passage to India is closed (boo!, BOOOO!), where does one recommend getting good Indian food in the area? Don't say Bombay Bistro.

Marla's on Lake and Emerson is quite tasty...especially the roti wraps. If you're looking for Southern Indian, Nalapak (where Udipi used to be) in Columbia Heights is WONDERFUL. Surabhi in Bloomington also has good Southern Indian food too, but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired.
