Dude Weather Subscribe to Secrets Minneapolis / St. Paul
MnSpeak's own aeklund, also of Ciceron, has started a Web video series called Mass Exodus, looking at the movement of media producers and consumers to the Web. His first video is with Paul Douglas.
To most of you, the content of the first video may seem a little no-duh, but this series is part of a campaign we're doing with Twin Cities Business magazine. Its readers may or may not be quite as wired as y'all. (At least that may explain why most web investments are vastly underfunded when compared to other media...)
We are soliciting feedback for ideas on future series through the video site. I would very much like to hear yours.
Andrew
The video refuses to start for me. Is it just my crappy work connection?
Hmm...anyone else having trouble? I just tried from several different computers and connections. No problems.
I have had problems in the past with this particular codec/format/player. Dont sweat it.
Worked for me. Cat, your web must be 1.0.
Interesting vid, Mr A, but I am saddened you avoided the only question of real importance regarding the Interwebs: "Do you remember what life was like before Goatse?"
Also, tie+Internet = Serious Business.
But the video is a great reminder of the general awesomeness of the Internet and its enrichment of my life. If it hadn't been for the Internet, I wouldn't be here in the US, nor would I have my awesome daughter. And I don't have cable or satellite TV any more, either. It's my sweet, sweet umbilical cord and the sound of hardware handshaking still gives me a little endorphin rush. I love how it has evolved, but I still miss IRC and Usenet.
Interweb interweb interweb!
ah the pre-and post-goatse epochs in internet culture.
Honestly I think we can further subdivide into eras. Like the latest few eras have been the lolcat era and the rick roll era. Who knows what's next!
I can't get it to play either.
Andrew, can you confirm Ciceron's plans for a two-tiered Internet?
drew - mine's working fine and I work for a non-profit. I think you're safe
nor would I have my awesome daughter
Teucer - where did you download your daughter from? Mine are from iBoys.com
BTW - if iBoys.com is some horrible gay porn site, I'd like to fully retract my earlier attempt at humor.
Andrew - in the next vid, I'd suggest you have them spell your last name correctly.
aecklund indeed!
teucer, would that be the bottom tier for lolcats and the top tier for Rick Roll?
small minor edit on the name. :)
Aeklund: You'd put Rickrolling at the top tier? This makes me wring my hands in horror.
Nateek: "Teucer - where did you download your daughter from? Mine are from iBoys.com"
Amazon.com, of course! Don't forget to request express delivery though. Anything more than 2 days is cruel.
If you plan on buying more than 2 kids on Amazon, you'd best be served to spring for Amazon Prime.
All right, it is time to expand my RSS Reader again with local blogs I haven't read before. If you kow of or have a local blog that produces local content (and it doesn't need to all be local content; just occasional), go ahead and pimp it here.…
