If you're looking to keep it in a close radius to your home to avoid taxing the environment with a lot of fossil fuel burning on its trip to your home area, this might not be the best for you as they are located in SW WI.

If you're looking for flexibility, they allow you to choose 17 weeks for a slightly higher per box price and you can avoid your vacations, trips, etc and not have to give your box to someone else.

They allow payments, monthly, via credit card and will happily give you the option to split the boxes with another family so that you aren't inundated with the selections.

In addition to the vegetable boxes, they also offer organic beef and poultry which you can get from them as well. Getting your own organic, free range turkey for Thanksgiving is an excellent idea if you eat meat products.

Just stay away from back to the earth hippies. We signed up for one last year. It was only their second year of farming. They were city hippies who decided to give organic farming a try.

They failed. We got two pathetic bags of food and then they folded.

Find an established farm, that's my advice.

I'd second Harmony Valley Farm. Even with the big floods last year in Wisconsin, we still got wonderful boxes the entire season. Plus, you can sign up for fruit, coffee, cheese, beef, and poultry -- all organic & fair trade...
