They won't tell us, except that it's super secret:
Volunteers needed at Walker Art Center on January 19-26, 2008. Be part of an unforgettable performance event/workshop with a national performing artist. All are welcome - no experience needed. Contact natalie.bowers@walkerart.org or 612-375-7695 for details.
The Rat is skeptical.
maybe it is one of those get a bunch of naked people together in the name of art things
but dang thinking about that idea today just makes me colder

I think you hit on it.
All are welcome - no experience needed
I think with a lot of the volunteers, you'd want to say something like "that's OK, thanks anyway."
Jana Sterbak is going to make an entire line of clothing out of human flesh.
I don't even know and I work there!
I heard you need to bring goulashes and a good pair of clipping shears, though.
(I kid, I kid...)
Galoshes? Or a meat dish?
It's not the naked photo thing. Spencer Tunick is kind of the Clay Aiken of the art world.
clay aiken? so it's sing in a so-so voice and change your hairstyle kind of art?
Something to do with the Tino Sehgal show, perhaps?
the poster says a "national performing artist" - the naked thing - i thought that was in the photography department.
Funny thing about the Jana Sterbak mention: Walker Performing Arts employs the first model of Sterbak's "meat dress" (a version of which is in the walker's collection.)
The Walker 2007-08 Performing Arts schedule has Claude Wampler/ PERFORMACE (career ender) for Jan. 24-26.
Based on a review of the show in The Brooklyn Rail and the poster on the Walker blog, my guess would be that they are auditioning for "audience plants".
All right, it is time to expand my RSS Reader again with local blogs I haven't read before. If you kow of or have a local blog that produces local content (and it doesn't need to all be local content; just occasional), go ahead and pimp it here.…

At 8:30 AM on a Thursday in early July, I am unable to think of what books were recommended at the last MnRead meeting and in the last MnRead post for future MnRead discussion. So make your recommendations here. Books with local angles (Fitzgerald co…
The PiPress reports: At least, there's one good thing about a bad economy: Burgers are hot right now. Especially the cheap ones. In the past year in the Twin Cities, a mini burger boom has been under way. What new burger joints have you enjoyed? Wha…
