What? No Ipso Facto??
Best show I ever saw was Ipso Facto at Kirby's in Moorhead, 1989 or 1990 St. Patrick's Day.
Absolutely with ya on Ipso Facto! (My post could only be so long...in hopes that people would add on.) Wain McFarland is still singing about Minneapolis, often coming up on random stages with random bands singing random songs. Ipso Facto used to often play with Shangoya (which is arguably MPLS's first reggae/calypso group) and the Maroons. I miss good Minneapolis reggae.
Also this post can't go without a link to the legendary Longhorn Bar. Saw my first Husker Du show there when I was in high school (still have no idea how I got in).
You digital animators on MNSpeak should check out the animation on The Wallets "Body Talk" video. Uh, this was well before Macs.
Lead guy Steve Kramer and manager Bob Hest are now the mad geniuses behind music house HestKramer. (Kramer also ended up being my next door neighbor for the better part of the '90s; and I swear I saw Hest at Town Talk last night.)
Fabulous post! Fabulous links! I'm awash in nostalgia for my days--nay, my decade--of good skin and poor judgment.

At 8:30 AM on a Thursday in early July, I am unable to think of what books were recommended at the last MnRead meeting and in the last MnRead post for future MnRead discussion. So make your recommendations here. Books with local angles (Fitzgerald co…
The PiPress reports: At least, there's one good thing about a bad economy: Burgers are hot right now. Especially the cheap ones. In the past year in the Twin Cities, a mini burger boom has been under way. What new burger joints have you enjoyed? Wha…
