CityPages: The next big thing
PiPress: No parent, no piercing
Balls: Britt's last Three Pointer (for CP)
Lambert: Less Hannity, More Lewis
I wonder how many bitter cube-dweller stories the Loop gets.
Anyone know where Britt is going to be posting from now on?
The Rake.
And it's nice to see the links are back... I wondered what happened.
"The Loop looking for sumbissions"
When you say that misspelling out loud, it sounds like "The Loop looking for sumbitches." The sumbitches who keyed my sister and knocked up my car.
Best misspelling I ever saw was in a ticket for the IT support group where I work. Someone's computer was infested with spyware and adware, and they complained they kept getting "poop ups" every time they clicked on something. I hate when I get poop ups.
The Loop looking for sumbitches.
Heh! I think I will make an effort to use "sumbitches" in casual conversation today.
Since you asked, as of Sunday, you'll be able to find Britt here. We are very happy to have him. He's the only guy who has ever been able to make sense of pro basketball for me.
Rag mag rules!
I mean Rake mag!!! Talk about a typo. Eep!

Wow, you didn't waste any time, Tom.
I mean Rake mag!!! Talk about a typo. Eep!
That was Freudian....
Is Tom rubbing his hands in delight at the implosion of City Pages now because he can round up the old gang and still made a killing selling it off?
Who the heck is Jason Lewis?
That was Freudian....
Yea, I guess. Too much talk about typos!
Best typo I've seen this year was on a document that was not meant to publicly released. The fact that I had it meant that it was publicly released. Oops.
At the bottom, it read:
"Not for pubic disclosure"
Lewis is a carpetbagger who takes radio talk show jobs in town periodically. He's great in that he directs his rage at not only liberals, but conservatives who don't hew the straight and narrow dogma that he does.
Republicans in the legislature can't stand him because he rouses the rabble who roar and snort though a big Cut My Taxes rally at the Capitol in April.
Do you feel you pay too little in taxes, rat bastard?
If so, please send a check to the capital.
Or do you just think it's cool to bash those who pay far more than they should?
I'm sure you fall into that category, buderino. Poow widdle abused man paying too much in taxes!
Hey, thanks for the link! Only Little Man could cheer me up this week...
The sumbitches over at Rag mag are going PUBIC with their new spots bogger.
Go TAXES!!!!
congrats Tom. Who next in the lineup?
Sumbitch Bumpesses!!!
I support pubic disclosure.
My poop ups ain't for pubic disclosure. God damn sumbitches.
I'm bored! Anything good on the Internet?
Or do you just think it's cool to bash those who pay far more than they should?
This is half-rhetorical I guess, but how much tax should one reasonably be expected to pay? You ask most individuals (myself included) whether their taxes are too high and you're going to get a "yes."
I don't know if anyone's still watching the uncle franky's webcam, but I was just there!

Just days before Britt announced he was leaving City Pages I was telling someone "Wow, I don't even like basketball but I read Britt regularly. City pages has to love this guy."
Obviously not enough.
But the other half of the Bartel cartel must have been listening
(the person to whom I made the comment knows both (all half dozen?) Bartels but that is as far as I will go in identifying him-- bartenders code and all.)
Has anybody actually listened to the Loop? Man, it's bad.
I don't know if anyone's still watching the uncle franky's webcam, but I was just there!
If you're going to Franky's, quit complaining about not being able to stay in shape.
I was just at the Uppercut Boxing Gym down the street.
Well la-tee-da. I'm gonna get fat on the eye candy at Franky's more than anything else.
wayne...learn the difference between "fat" and "a chubby"
email me your email addy...I have a funny planning-related story for you.
Didn't know that there were babes at Franky's.
Just one, behind the counter.
Good luck with this.
Are you talking about that hot little 20 year old latina?
Gotta love the jeans sans pockets.
"What kinda pop you want, honey?"
wayne i hope you are under 20 otherwise that's dirty.
Also, even though I'm "liberal" i couldn't help but think this proposal is really dumb.
1. Tax will soon be more than tip to dine out (yes I tip 20%).
2. Maybe we should tax people actually using the roads (gasoline tax).
Did you know that if you drive more than 35 miles each way to work your mileage is tax deductible? Maybe we should repeal that one too.
Kudos on landing Britt for the Rake. He really is a class act and his blog is addicting...even when I find it impossible to watch the imploding T-Wolves, I still read Britt's Blog.
I really wonder what the "philosophical differences" are over at CP.
Perhaps the Rake should just cherry pick the rest of the CP writing staff and go weekly. Already it has become the Minny-Apple equivalent of The New Yorker.
under 20? almost! why is that dirty, though?
/lost
Off topic, but there are more Little Man links here. Perricelli poses with Al Franken in the Pulse--apparently there was a Franken event at the 331 Club the same night as the "listening party" last Thursday...
And I thought we were back to the downtown St. Paul light rail loop. . . known at the City Hall Courthouse as the Bloop (Bennett loop, in honor of County Commissioner Tony Bennett)
as for typos: we once got a press release from the extension service about dealing with ants, flies, flour moths and other "panty pests".
those can be a problem

Well, sure. Just not . . . you know . . . legally.
.

If you havta stop noticing attractive women once you get past 20, there's a lot of "dirty" men in this world.
domenic must be pretty special.
.I have a funny planning-related story for you.
My ass.
I'm 29 and she seems about 16 to me. Didn't mean to offend. Given I have a sister that is 19, girls near her age just seem way too young to ogle.
My mother did always say I was special. Glad you agree Rat.

she's in college, so we're safe. (no, i'm not a perv...she offered the info.) unless she's some type of 14yr old prodigy...which i umm....doubt.
tell me more about her ... yessss
It's amazing how many posters seem to eat at Uncle Franky's on a regular basis. I have a rule of at lease once a week.

I stopped there yesterday for a Vienna dog with celery salt. Ymm.
Cecils in Highland Park serves a good dog, too.

Gross! Ew.
Our office just closed. I should have stopped at Franky's for the second time this week. Sadly, I'm home now and not leaving until the snow melts.
My mother did always say I was special. Glad you agree Rat.
I read an article the other day about how screwed up Gen Xers are because their parents kept telling them that.
