While you are walking around the lake today, take a listen to one of the Central Library’s podcasts from their Globalization Unearthed series. The most recent two, on World Music and on Globalism’s Funeral, will be followed this month by lectures on “Responding to the Global Food Crisis” on July 14, and “Voices and Influences of International Journalism” on the 21st, and the last in the series, “Global Trends in Art Museums” on the 28th. These are part of the People’s University program at the Library– and that’s part of what we celebrate today, isn’t it: Our free education system. Other food for thought on the 4th?
