For sale: 1970s Minneapolis skyway
From the Strib. It’s for sale on Craigslist for $75,000: “The skyway was built in the late 1970s and designed by Minneapolis architect Ed Baker, who also worked on the IDS building. It once connected the former Powers and JC Penney department stores, but was taken down when the Hiawatha light-rail line was built … the steel alone is worth more than $250,000 …”
I don’t know how successful (or expensive) it would be to weatherize the span for use as a living space but it would then share some similarity to the “container home” concept, don’t you think?
