According to a mplsbikelove posting, the U Otter Stop Inn, on Central Avenue, was the scene of a hate crime this weekend when three people were attacked outside, resulting in a broken leg for one. “We got attacked outside of the You Otter Stop Inn in NE by a couple of guys who started calling our friend ‘faggot’ and then started punching Joe when he told them to stop. An investigator has been assigned to the case, but nobody has been caught yet. [...] this was a blatant hate crime, we were being called ‘faggot’ and ‘nigger’ the entire time, and the bouncer didn’t do anything to stop it.”
People are now using various social media sites, including Facebook, to call for a boycott of the bar. And the comments on the bar’s Yelp page are certainly not going to help business.
