Now this is my kind of “giving back.” Dining Out for Life brings together 150 of the Twin Cities’ (and beyond) restaurants in a campaign to raise money for the Aliveness Project, which last year served nearly 1600 Minnesotans living with HIV/AIDS.
You can Dine Out this Thursday, April 29th. Each participating restaurant is donating a percentage of the proceeds for the day to the Aliveness Project of Minnesota.
The Aliveness Project provides various therapies, case management, educational resources and a food shelf for HIV positive Minnesotans who often have no other access to support for their unique needs.
Sven Sundgaard of KARE 11’s Meteorology department will again be the celebrity of the day –you’ll find him popping up at several of the restaurants throughout the event, which runs through breakfast, lunch and dinner (depending on the restaurant). Simply dine at one of the participating restaurants, and you’re contributing to the cause! When you dine, look for the ambassadors to find out how you can make an individual contribution, and be entered to win a bunch of great prizes!
Aliveness Project’s Executive Director, Joe Larson puts it best: “This is a unique opportunity for people to join in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Just choose one of our restaurants and enjoy your meal or meals with a group of friends — all you have to donate is your appetite!”
Here’s a list of participating restaurants – reservations are recommended!
