Looks like hitting the road to stomach strange and curious courses has paid off—Andrew Zimmern took home the James Beard Award this weekend for Outstanding Personality/Host for his show, Bizarre Foods America. The chef and Mpls.St.Paul Magazine columnist known for his adventurous eating style uses the show to expose the deliciously weird food traditions and trends and around the U.S., keeping an open mind (and open mouth).

Also honored with a nomination? Mpls.St.Paul Magazine’s own Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl for her piece, “The Cheese Artist,” an appreciative portrait of a modern-day cheesemaker. Add in Butcher & the Boar’s nomination for Best Chef in the Midwest, and it looks like MSP is getting the recognition it deserves in the foodie world.
