It can be a real challenge to keep up with the pace of new music, both locally and nationally, so we’re always excited to check out the year-end lists to make sure we didn’t miss anything. This week First Avenue posted their top new bands, which includes Bloodnstuff, Sexcat, Gramma’s Boyfriend, and more; the STrib’s Chris Riemenschneider and other TC music critics assembled their top picks for best local albums, and the top two spots went to Doomtree; Pamela Espeland recaps her choices in Minnpost for best performances; and to lead into their New Year’s countdown of top 89 tunes, The Current’s staff lists their favorite selections from 2011.
