Much like New Yorkers make a break for the Hamptons in the middle of the summer, metropolitan Minnesotans can head out of the Cities to get some warm weather, out-state fun. And for us, part of that fun is a planning ahead for a road trip to a Casino for some (previously) big name entertainment . . . and maybe some slots while we’re there, too.

We wanted to list a few shows with contemporary acts for today’s casino pick—but those shows are sold out. (Get on a casino mailing list or two, otherwise there’s no way you’re going to get tickets to Weird Al.) So we’re doing another throw back, this one to the ’90s pop package Under the Sun tour with Sugar Ray and Eve 6 and Better Than Ezra and Uncle Kracker. Now, before you throw away all our street cred, let us remind you about the unbelievable outrage when Sugar Ray dropped out of last year’s Zombie Pub Crawl. It’s ’90s nostalgia at its finest; the only thing missing is Third Eye Blind, and they’re already playing the Cabooze this summer. And you know you have friends who still have that one Better Than Ezra CD in their Honda Accords and trust us they still listen to them, so why not get those scratched up compact discs out for a summer road trip up to Hinkley? Only $25!
