The Vikings aren’t bringing the most, um, welcome news to Minnesota, but their future stadium is at least making a lot of headlines. It seems College football’s Bowl Championship Series is eyeing the nearly $1 billion facility in downtown Minneapolis for the final matchup in 2017 (via MPR).

The stadium, which is expected to be completed in 2016, is competing against Jacksonville, Bay Area, Tampa Bay, San Antonio, and South Florida to host the game. The supersize facility is also vying for the 2018 Super Bowl, and is currently in the running against Indianapolis and New Orleans.
