Rescued lab-shepherd mix, Remi, has transformed from a homeless dog that no one wanted into the winner of two world championships and is to be on national TV this winter, according to the Star Tribune.

Two years ago, Tom Dropik of New Prague took in the rescue dog—temporarily at first—and was soon won over by the dog’s personality.

After just five months, Remi was already competing in dock-jumping events. Last fall he won the “speed retrieve” event at the World Championships in Canton, Ohio, and then won the World Championship again last month in Dubuque, Iowa.
