Many anecdotes, impressions, and accents from comedienne Maria Bamford’s upbringing in Duluth, MN made their way into her web series The Maria Bamford Show, a collection of shorts that finds Bamford holed up in tiny rooms in front of a web camera.

For their upcoming exhibit, the Museum of Art and Design in New York has paired Bamford’s webisodes with Grey Gardens, the acclaimed documentary about reclusive socialites named Edith Beale in New York. In addition to theme of being reclusive, the museum selected Bamford to highlight “the now-established movement of young talents turning to online distribution for self crafted works”. Splitsider magazine chatted with Bambford about her inclusion in the gallery show.
