A new app may make you rethink the vast region most Twin Cities residents simply know as “Up North.”
On Monday, American Consolidated Media—parent company of the Herald-Review, the Hibbing Daily Tribune, the Mesabi Daily News, and the Chisholm Tribune Press—launched UpNorthExplorer.
Geared toward those in the Superior region, the app is meant to be a complement to area newspapers, allowing visitors and tourists to discover local dining, entertainment, and shopping hot spots with their mobile device. There’s even a recipe guide for those classic northern Minnesota dishes, including moose spaghetti, walleye, and venison (via Grand Rapids Herald-Review).
So the next time an out-of-towner asks if you know how to get to Paul Bunyan Land, you can pull out your phone with a smile and say, “Ya, you betcha.”
