Mystery Samaritan Slips $1,100 into Salvation Army Kettle
The famous red tins of the Salvation Army tend to catch only spare change around the holidays but for one lucky kettle in Waite Park yesterday it grabbed a whopping $1,100 from a single donation.
Discovered by the major while he was counting the money, the donation was a series of 11 $100 bills folded in on each other. The hefty sum was a much-needed boost as the SA campaign is currently $14,000 off pace compared to this time last year. The campaign still has a long way to go to reach its $220,000 goal before the drive wraps up on Dec. 24.
