What is Minneapolis native Dan Huiting up to now? The same thing he does every night—trying to take over the world . . . of music videography! Andrea Swensson, formerly of Gimme Noise at City Pages and currently the new music reporter at The Current, caught up with Huiting, a man notorious for shooting local and national musicians (and the view from his window), to talk about the videographer’s career’s steady ascent—from making PSAs for the city to creating the MPLS.TV (and Pitchfork) series City of Music to directing a tour documentary (and workout DVD) for chart-topping Grammy nominee Bon Iver. Read the interview over at The Local Current blog, and check out Huiting’s newest music video, for Kathleen Edwards’ track “Change the Sheets” from The Current’s CD of the week Voyageur, below.
