Mpls. Ink

If your skin is still sore from removing the tattoo of your ex-girlfriend’s name across your chest, you might want to steer clear of the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis, as this weekend marks the return of the Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Convention.

But if you’re hungry for more ink, by all means check it out. Perhaps you can get something more traditional or folky this time around—two kinds of tats that are seeing a resurgence lately, according to some locally-based artists.

There will be around 300 artists from across the country at the event, including Megan Massacre from TLC’s “NY Ink.” Doors open on Friday at 2 p.m., and the event runs until Sunday evening. Tickets are $20 per day or $40 for the weekend, and children under 12 are free! (In case your 7-year-old is looking for his first tat).
