MPD Cracks Down on Texting & Driving

Didn’t think you could get pulled over for texting and driving?

You might be out of luck today, as KARE 11 reports police officers in Minneapolis and the metro will crack down on the dangerous habit. It is, in fact, illegal for drivers to read or send e-mails and access the Web on a phone while a car is in traffic, but distracted drivers still cause 20 percent of crashes each year—that’s at least 70 deaths and 350 injuries produced by the likes of Googling “Rock the Garden lineup 2013.”

Keep your phone in check while you’re driving home today, for your sake and everyone else’s.
