Calling all Bobby Fischer wannabes: The 2012 national high school chess championship is happening in Minneapolis this weekend. Oh, so you didn’t know there was such a competition? Neither did we. But apparently it’s a pretty big deal, with more than 1,300 kids from across the country competing. The Hyatt Regency’s ballrooms will be packed with tables, 700+ chessboards, and eager young players, reports the Pioneer Press. Chess nerds, this is your chance to shine. Good luck this weekend.
