It’s an exciting day for lots of TC chefs as the 2012 James Beard Award semifinalists have been announced. The “Best Chef: Midwest” category is brimming with local talent, including chefs from Piccolo, Heidi’s, Travail, Meritage, Tilia, and Heartland. Other notable nominees: the Bachelor Farmer for “Best New Restaurant,” Tim McKee of La Belle Vie for “Outstanding Chef,” and Sameh Wadi of Saffron for “Rising Star Chef of the Year,” among others.
