Sustainable farming and community gardening have been all the rage for years now. Even the first lady wrote a book about it. Now kids in St. Paul are getting in on the action. Yesterday students at J.J. Hill Montessori Magnet School got ready for fall by harvesting crops they had grown in their garden. The garden was started fairly recently as part of the outdoor education program to promote healthy living. Today school members will be devouring soup the kids made from the pounds of squash and potatoes they labored over on Thursday.
