Ok, weren’t trying to avoid it or anything, but we’ve caught The Replacements fever going around. Their homecoming on Saturday at Midway Stadium is a super big deal for ‘Mats fans who saw them several times back in the day—and maybe even more so for younger fans who celebrate the music and their legendary status. Either way, The Replacements might be a bit of a nostalgia act (they don’t have a new album to push on us or anything like that), but there’s something endearing to see local boys Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson celebrated in such a fashion. And it’s really cool to see them enjoying their old tricks and just doing a bang-up job on Fallon last night.
