Award Winning Authors Keep Local Literary Life Thriving
The Twin Cities has always been known for its vibrant literary scene. With numerous acclaimed writers to its name and some of the most reputable independent publishing houses in the country it’s no surprise that bookstores in town are still thriving. In even better news, Louise Erdrich has just won the National Book Award for her latest novel The Round House, along with young adult author William Alexander for his debut novel Goblin Secrets. These recent accolades are a cause for excitement at Birchbark Books in Kenwood (owned by Louise Erdrich), Magers & Quinn in Uptown, and Moon Palace, which just opened last month near Powderhorn. Birchbark has sold hundreds of signed copies of The Round House, and Magers & Quinn will be hosting a book launch for Goblin Secrets in the spring.
