AT&T customers finally have cause to celebrate, as the Twin Cities will now enjoy full 4G data speeds on their newer smartphones or tablets. With full 4G, download speeds should triple, allowing customers to stream, download, and upload faster than ever before.

While AT&T has been claiming it has had 4G services all along, it has actually been “4G-light” which provided a speed higher than 3G but much slower than “full 4G.” Although Verizon Wireless provided 4G two years ago, AT&T is still ahead of Sprint and T-Mobile, whose timetables are still unclear. AT&T’s announcement coincides with the arrival of its brand new 4G-capable tablet computer, which arrives in stores this week.
