Windfall: Green Energy In Southern MN Offers Sneak Peak at Obama’s Plan?

Here’s some related links on this subject to offer more background.

I wish governments would get a lot more involved in green energy. As an individual, I cannot afford to put solar panels on my roof, but I have a perfect roof for it. Xcel, City of Mpls, someone should use that space for solar or wind energy, I’ll give it to them for free. I think every flat roof in the city should be covered in solar panels. We could be a energy neutral city, how cool would that be?

But, because there is little investment in alternative energies, the cost is prohibitive to individuals and governments. Makes me sad.

Some of Minneapolis’ public buildings have been adding solar panels, kc.

As an individual, you can support greener energy through programs like this one.

Add Winona County to the list of Minnesota places getting wind turbines.

Interestingly, as other industries are laying off workers, there is a mini-boom in the wind-generated electricty jobs. Warning: some of the jobs are not for those afraid of heights!

My friend’s husband earns his living maintaining those wind turbines in Mower & Dodge counties so outside of the initial construction it does create lasting jobs.

Send him up to the Iron Range .  Looks like they could use some help.

Those things sure are huge…surprised the hell out of me when I went up there this past summer.

I was surprised to leard that we had turbines on the Range, too, spells.

Vell, da wind blows Up North too, dontcha know.

Gee, I didn’t know about this. Twitter Search is cool.
