Polling Shows Pawlenty an ‘Unpopular’ Governor

Public Policy Polling, an exciting blog about the data in polling, reports that in Minnesota “43% of voters in the state approve of him while 53% disapprove” and even goes so far as to suggest that the negative view of Pawlenty in the state possibly did enough damage to affect the governor’s race. The author also points out that, with current polling numbers, Obama would easily win Minnesota.
I think disapproval of Pawlenty comes from both the right and the left. And he’s been around for eight years. Familiarity breeds contempt. He’s also be actively campaigning for President, which puts some people off. I don’t think he affected the governor’s election as much as Tom Horner did. Without Horner in the picture we could be looking at Governor Emmer right now with the state legislature fiipped to the Republicans. Max hinted at it yesterday. How the hell could someone like Emmer even get as close as he did to winning?
