Twelve women/girls between 13 and 22 were arrested on Sunday for assaulting a teenage girl over a MySpace posting. According to a Strib report, the assault occurred on a Metro Transit bus. What the report doesn’t tell us is what the heck the post was about. What sparked the dispute? And why are we getting so many reports about blog posts and internet content without sufficient information? What’s the point of telling the story without the details? Just to show us that MySpace, and the Internet in general can provoke violence? Or are reporters just leaving the job half done?
