Is that a song? Stop your caroling for a moment and let’s go out to the ballgame, or rather, let’s stay in for the ballgame. According to MLB.com, “the Twins and Fox Sports North have partnered to give Twins fans their own holiday gift, re-airing the memorable 2009 American League Central tiebreaker.”
It’s a game that’s been labeled among the greatest regular-season contests in Twins history — and perhaps in baseball history as well. And on Christmas night, fans can relive the Twins’ dramatic 12-inning, 6-5 victory over the Tigers in Game 163 thanks to a special encore presentation.
“163 Presented by Best Buy” will premiere on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. CT on Fox Sports North. The show will not just replay the game, but will also offer perspective from participants in the classic contest. There will be exclusive commentary from manager Ron Gardenhire as well as stories about that special night from others who were there.
