Steve Marsh interviews Tom Davis, longtime comedy partner of Al Franken and author of a new book about his days at Saturday Night Live: We did a Rolling Stones impression that was pretty convincing. And Al was Mick, so he got the expression and the moves and stuff perfect because we were imitating that exact tour in ’82. Mick Jagger was wearing those yellow pants and capezios.
It’s true: it’s pretty convincing.

Didn’t they bill themselves as the Comedy Team that Weighs the Same for a while? I seem to remember an appearance on Late Night with David Letterman.

Very good, but I think Franken’s a little more David Johannsen in that clip than Mick Jagger.

Yeah, Tom writes about that Letterman ep in the book. He came in light because he was doing drugs at a music festival the weekend before, so Al had to use his old wrestling technique of sweating it out to make weight by the time they were on Dave.
