I’m totally with C. on this one. Ramstad is a superb public servant who is way too good for the Repub label right now.

I would not only vote for him, but I’d HELP in any way I could.

On the other hand, if candidates like Ramstad WERE brave enough and could successfully wear the Repub label, it could bring some credibility back to the tarnished party.

Like with the local Green party, that has been taken over by a bunch of cuckoo clocks, I always thought that a political party *IS* whatever the people involved make it to be, so if Ramstad and other top notch folks surfaced then moderate constituents like myself (and C.) could get involved and *be* Repub, again.

Also, I saw the Rammer lost it on a high school junior who called him on his bullshit and then realizing he just lost his shit in front of 400 high schoolers and their teachers, tried to pull an about face and invited the kid to coffee. And then we all laughed at him and clapped for the kid who made a politician lose it in front of kids instead of brainwashing us like some future president might do to some kids a decade later.

Also, the kid turned out to be right about what he called him out on. I don’t remember what it was though, I just remember looking into it on Lexis-Nexis. The guy was some sort of policy wonk. I too turned out to be right in thinking, before that assembly started, “I get the feeling this guy’s kinda an a-hole. I have no reason to think this but the a-hole force is strong…”

Granted, that’s generally my assumption of the Reps from MN 3 & 6 but I wasn’t up on congressional districts back then.

I would, however, like to know what happened to that kid.

Jane, you obviously need to speak to the person hosting said party about hiring a new bartender. He’s probably watering down the drinks.

I don’t know what that meant but I felt the need to address Jane’s party concerns, link my comment back to politics and insult the GOP. But at the same time, I didn’t feel like putting much thought into what I said.

I think a large measure of the group would end up supporting/voting for a shitty candidate or representative.

It’s not fun, but sometimes it’s necessary.

No, Bob’s not in the way. He’s just telling you there’s consequences to your actions. That’s the way adults evaluate things.

I don’t know if Ramstad can break through. If he can build the support and raise the money he can run under a third party. But he’s not a Jesse Ventura.

If he can’t raise the money an build the support he probably doesn’t deserve it.
